Welcome to 2024.
If yours has been anything like mine, it’s already been a whirlwind, but ever since last year, I’ve been thinking about you – my readers. Last year, we scratched the surface of this whole blog thing. This year, God is unlocking doors like I never imagined. As I’ve been thinking about and praying about who I want to be, and how I want to engage with this community, I want to pull back the curtain on more of who I am.
So far, you’ve seen the NFL side of me and got to know some of how I think. This year, I want you to see who I am as a person so we can all connect more as a community. There’s so much more, and by no means was last year a retirement letter. This year, I’m simply stepping into everything I should have nine years ago and I want to let you in on it.
This year, I want to introduce the world to me as a holistic man of faith.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says, Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously, and as I thought about that verse, I realized: that I no longer want to take the jeopardy of reaping bad seeds. My faith is not karmic, but life is about planting and planting with wisdom. This perspective is allowing me to see beyond myself. Everything I do has consequences, good or bad, and those ripples flow farther than I realized before.
This year, I want to introduce the world to me as a holistic man of faith. I’m maximizing my time here on earth and see so many doors opening up around community engagement, entrepreneurship, family and relationships, ministry, and yes, football.
My faith is not karmic, but life is about sowing and reaping with wisdom.
So many of my dreams can’t be done alone and these next days, weeks, and months are going to look like linking arms with many of you and inspiring this community to be good seed sowers in your communities too.
One topic we are going to cover is entrepreneurship, business, and making money work for you. I’ve learned so much about what it means to build generational wealth and wisely invest that which God has given me, and I want to educate my readers – especially young men – who want to become the best stewards of their money that they can. I’ve also learned so much with TLC and restaurant co-ownership is no joke! We will continue to talk family, fatherhood, love and relationships because these are areas I’ve grown and will continue to grow in. I’m also excited to unveil some creative ways that My 10 Percent is reaching the community, and share more of my vision and hope for this ministry. Not to mention this year already has a few surprises I can’t share just yet.
You are not simply one thing but are made up of many unique facets, skills, and sides. No one is homogeneous, and this space is where I intend to introduce you to the different sides of me.
Welcome to phase 2.
